With an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities seemingly imminent, there comes news that Syria may have acquired technology to produce nuclear arms as well. Can the middle-east get anymore volatile and dangerous?

We posted a blog entry yesterday which indicated that Israel is increasing worried about Iran’s nuclear weapons ambition, and how a pre-emptive attacked on Iran by Israel could send the region into war. Most suspect that Iran would sick its proxies upon Israel in retaliation, (Hezbollah in Lebanon), who would quickly be joined by Hamas in Gaza, the Palestinians in the West Bank and likely Syria and Egypt as well.

Should Syria join into such a fray, and should the Syrians indeed have nuclear enriched materials, could that be why we read in Isaiah 17 of the complete destruction of Damascus in this coming war? If Syrian President Bashar al-Assad attempted to make good on his recent threats towards Israel, might his intention by nuclear in nature? No doubt Israel would protect itself from any such attack with the "Samson Option", a strategic nuclear hit that if directed at Damascus would render it a pile of rubble as the prophet Isaiah foresaw and warned about.

The IAEA sources revealed that the Syrian government worked on the secret Hasaka complex with Abdel Qader Khan, father of Pakistan's atomic bomb, basing it on the same technology he designed for Muammar Qaddafi's nuclear bomb project.
