Prophecy Sign: The revived Roman Empire - the coming European Superstate
Why is the present day European Union or the EuroZone not the final world empire spoken of in bible prophecy? Because it is not nearly consolidated and centralized enough. There is still a high degree of sovereignty within the member states. However that will soon come to and end as the push continues to reform the EuroZone into the United States of Europe, (Superstate). Leaders of such nations as Germany and France are united in their calls for the establishment of this colossus.
We believe that once this entity becomes a reality, it will be the fulfillment of bible prophecy, (Daniel and Revelation), that foretold of the coming together of the remnants of the old Roman Empire into a revived political and economic empire.
Prophecy tells us that this entity, (the feet of clay in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream), will be like Iron mixed with clay. An entity partially strong and partially weak. This entity will be the progenitor of the final 10 kingdoms, (the 10 toes of the dream), that will work with the Antichrist to implement a new global economic/financial system.
God will ultimately send his Son, Jesus Christ back to the earth to once and far all, destroy this final kingdom devised by mankind, (and Satan). Jesus will then establish his millennial kingdom.
Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.
“In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. Daniel 2:41-45 NIV
From the articles:
The situation could hardly be any more dramatic. The European monetary union threatens to implode unless something happens soon. The ambitious project that was supposed to permanently unify the continent will have failed, with dramatic consequences for Europe and the rest of the world. Countries would go bankrupt, banks would have to be rescued once again, and the economy would sink into a recession that would last for years. The moment of truth is approaching, now that the end game for the euro has begun.
__________________________________________The leaders of France and Germany called for a 'united states of Europe ' today as they agreed to further integrate the troubled 17-nation eurozone. Nicolas Sarkozy called for the European Central Bank to play a bigger role in solving the debt crisis and agreed with Angela Merkel that the eurozone should further integrate. The leaders of the three largest economies in the eurozone met in Strasbourg earlier, in an attempt to resolve the ongoing turmoil.
__________________________________________First Greece ; then Ireland and Portugal ; then Italy and Spain . Month by month, the crisis in the euro area has crept from the vulnerable periphery of the currency zone towards its core, helped by denial, misdiagnosis and procrastination by the euro-zone’s policymakers. Recently Belgian and French government bonds have been in the financial markets’ bad books. Investors are even sniffy about German bonds: an auction of ten-year Bunds on November 23rd shifted only €3.6 billion-worth ($4.8 billion) of the €6 billion-worth on offer. Worse, there are signs that the euro zone’s economy is heading for recession, if it is not there already.
Now an even bigger calamity is looking likelier. The intensifying financial pressure raises the chances of a disorderly default by a government, a run of retail deposits on banks short of cash, or a revolt against austerity that would mark the start of the break-up of the euro zone.
