We posted a blog entry a few days back which described Syria's destiny in future bible prophecy. Its immediate destiny doesn't look good, according to Isaiah 17, although come the millennial kingdom, Syriawill become a friend of Israeland will look toward Yahweh God.

Israelis now warning Syriathat she will be attacked by the Israeli IDF if the Syrians fire missiles on Tel Avi or any other part of Israel. What form of response Israelwould make would likely be to the degree of the Syrian attack. If the Syrians were to use WMD's then Israelis likely to respond in kind with the nuclear option. This quite likely would fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah 17 which indicates Damascuswould be obliterated as a city.

However after this devastation, Syriawill eventually become a blessing to the world along with Egyptand Israel.

In that day there will be a highway from Egyptto Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egyptand the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. Israeli officials have reportedly warned Syrian dictator Bashar Assad that if he uses the downfall of his regime as an excuse to launch missiles at Tel Aviv, Israel will respond with a massive assault against Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. Unnamed Israeli government sources told News First Class that the threat was relayed to Assad via European intelligence agencies. The Israeli counter-threat came just days after Iran's Fars news agency quoted Assad telling Turkey's foreign minister that he would launch hundreds of ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv if the West interferes in his violent crackdown on pro-democracy protestors in Syria.
