Israel officially accepts Quartet proposal

Prophecy Sign:  The final seven year peace agreement which will usher in "Peace and Safety" but result in total destruction.

Someday in the very near future, and announcement will be made, (perhaps at the United Nations or at the White House), that a peace treaty has been negotiated between Israeland her enemies.  This agreement will have a time period of seven years attached to it. The nations will then declare peace at last, but it will not last as bible prophecy warns us:

While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 NIV

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday accepted the Quartet's proposal for the resumption of peace negotiations and a final status agreement within one year. Netanyahu made the decision after meeting with the eight-minister forum.  A statement by the Prime Minister's Office said: "Israel welcomes the Quartet's call to hold direct talks with no preconditions with the Palestinian Authority as previously proposed by US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Though Israel has a number of reservations which it will raise during negotiations, it calls on the PA to do the same and enter into direct talks without delay."

Israel is becoming increasingly isolated in the Middle East, US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta has warned. He said Israel should restart peace talks with the Palestinians and restore good relations with Turkey and Egypt. Mr Panetta spoke while travelling to the region for talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. Diplomatic efforts have intensified recently to push the two sides back to peace talks that were abandoned last year.

The State of Israel on Sunday officially accepted a plan by the Quartet of peacekeeping nations to restart final status talks with the Palestinian Authority.

The Quartet, comprised of the United States, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations, has published a new timetable for direct negotiations between the two parties, urging both Israel and the PA to come to the table within four weeks. During this initial meeting, the two sides are expected to express their commitment to a timetable which will allegedly bring forth a peace agreement by the end of 2012.
