Euro Meltdown to Spark Another Great Depression

Prophecy Sign:  The collapse of the global economy.  The rise of the final world empire.

The EuroZone is close to break-up, and thus, close to becoming the Super-State or final world empire that bible prophecy says it will become. Will this metamorphous then span 10 European based nations to become the 10 Kingdoms that we read about in the books of Daniel and Revelation? Or will the Euro Super-State span a global division of the planet into 10 new economic zones, (or Kingdoms), that will work alongside the Antichrist? We can't say for sure. However it is very interesting how the current global economic strife is forcing nations together such as what the Nordic nations are looking to do, (see below), and how the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, is looking to do with a Euro-Asian economic unit, (see previous blog entries on this).

From the articles:
Northern Europe must share the burden with southern Europe or face a "monumental economic failure," writes Stephen King, global chief economist for HSBC in The Independent. They should share the burden because they are partly to blame for the crisis for lending so much to southern countries. If they don't, a euro meltdown will pave the way for another Great Depression. If the euro disintegrates, massive financial anarchy could throw the world into another Great Depression, he warns. The northern creditors will suffer as much as anyone else. So Germany and France must take political risk to find a solution rather than risk a complete economic failure.

The European Union is doomed to fail because the divide between the northern and southern countries is just too great, former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan told CNBC in a recent interview. "At the outset of the creation of the euro in 1999, it was expected that the southern eurozone economies would behave like those in the north; the Italians would behave like Germans. They didn’t," Greenspan said. "Instead, northern Europe fell into subsidizing southern Europe’s excess consumption, that is, its current account deficits."

Swedish historian and analyst Gunnar Wetterberg has suggested that the Nordic states should create their own European Union-style agreement in case the EU itself fails. The Local reports that Wtterberg wrote the opinion article in the Dagens Nyheter (DN) daily. "A united Nordic state would be far stronger in the face of the outside world than the five countries individually, while an increasingly common domestic market would provide significantly better growth than today," Wetterberg wrote. The "Nordic Union" would include Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Greenland.
