Prophecy Sign: Increasing numbers of Earthquakes and active Volcanoes in diverse places
When Jesus sat down with and told his disciples the events that would proceed his return to this earth, Jesus mentioned great earthquakes occurring in places all over the world. Likely he could have mentioned volcanic eruptions as well as the two go hand in hand. These major earth shaking events Jesus spoke of are probably yet to come, and likely not until the latter part of the Tribulation. (In other words, the peoples of this world haven't seen anything yet with regards to the convulsions this world will go through during a future period of time.)
However, we shouldn't be at all surprised to see what seem to be increases in the numbers of earthquakes worldwide and the numbers of volcanoes coming to life. For if we are indeed approaching the time of the end, then the labour pains this world is going through should come closer together and be more severe.

Indonesian officials have raised the status of one of its most dangerous volcanoes, Anak Krakatau, to a “standby” or level IV- the highest level. The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), Surono said this is a rise in status that was set on Friday, September 30, 2011 evening at 24.00. The reason for the elevated status is because of the high-intensity level of earthquakes.
