Canary Island Evacuated Amid Volcano Fears

Prophecy Sign:  Increasing numbers of Earthquakes and active Volcanoes in diverse places

When Jesus sat down with and told his disciples the events that would proceed his return to this earth, Jesus mentioned great earthquakes occurring in places all over the world. Likely he could have mentioned volcanic eruptions as well as the two go hand in hand. These major earth shaking events Jesus spoke of are probably yet to come, and likely not until the latter part of the Tribulation. (In other words, the peoples of this world haven't seen anything yet with regards to the convulsions this world will go through during a future period of time.)

However, we shouldn't be at all surprised to see what seem to be increases in the numbers of earthquakes worldwide and the numbers of volcanoes coming to life. For if we are indeed approaching the time of the end, then the labour pains this world is going through should come closer together and be more severe.

There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Luke 21:11 NIV

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Romans 8:22 NIV
From the articles:
Indonesian officials have raised the status of one of its most dangerous volcanoes, Anak Krakatau, to a “standby” or level IV- the highest level. The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), Surono said this is a rise in status that was set on Friday, September 30, 2011 evening at 24.00.  The reason for the elevated status is because of the high-intensity level of earthquakes. Today for example, “On October 2, 2011, at 00.00 until 12.00, there are 2745 recorded seismic events,” said Surono, when he was contacted by VIVAnews.com, Sunday, October 2, 2011.

Thousands of tiny earthquakes have rattled the island of El Hierro since this July. But recently the tremors have grown stronger, prompting concern from officials, who fear that a volcano on El Hierro, one of the Canary Islands, could be about to erupt. On Wednesday, more than 50 residents and tourists staying at the base of the volcano were evacuated, and 11,000 locals nearby were advised to stock up on water, medicine and flashlights in case of an emergency.  Some 8,000 tremors have been registered on the island since July 19, according to the Spanish National Geographic Institute (IGN). Though most of the quakes occurred at sea and were too minor to be felt, they have been increasing in intensity, with one reaching a magnitude of 3.4 on the Richter scale early on Wednesday morning.
