Palestinians Want an Even Bigger State Than the 1967 Borders

Prophecy Sign: The Psalm 83 war

We support Israel, but we sometimes wonder about some of the decisions her leadership makes. Case in point, after seeing the Palestinians make their presentation to the U.N. about statehood which then gets everyone all talking about restarting peace negotiations, Israel promptly goes ahead and approves another 1,100 settlement homes in the West Bank. A sure fire way to really annoy, (we could have chosen a more descriptive term), the Palestinians and get everybody in a fighting mood. Go figure.

The Palestinians are already charged up and seeking more land and space in any peace agreement, while Hamas, (the Gazabunch), are all charged up about the Palestinian leadership going too far with recognition of Israel. Hamas has never been shy about their one true goal which is the complete destruction of the Jewish state.

Everybody is annoyed with everybody else and nobody seems to want and sit down and talk with anybody. Is it any wonder peace is still only a dream in this neck of the woods? It will take some spectacular negotiations for the future Antichrist to get this bunch to agree on anything. No wonder the world will be stunned and amazed at the workings of this man.
In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a fierce-looking king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy those who are mighty, the holy people. He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. Daniel 8:23-25 NIV

From the articles:
When the Palestinians presented their bid for statehood at the UN Friday, most news outlets suggested Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas was aiming for a state based on 1967 borders covering only the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. A closer look at the actual letter he presented to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon applying for UN membership reveals the Palestinians are aiming for far more territory.

Hamas’s refugees’ affairs department has criticized Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas move at the UN, saying it bolstered the Palestinians’ recognition of Israel as never before. The statement also predicts that Abbas would ask the Palestinians to refrain from all armed resistance against Israel, because if recognized as a state by the Palestinians, acts of armed resistance against Israel would be classified as aggression from one state against another and could draw heavy response from Israel and possibly result in a renewal of occupation. The statement says that by conferring legitimacy to Israel and officially recognizing it as a state with pre-1967 borders, the right of the Palestinian refugees ejected from beyond those borders to return is put at risk.

Israel approved on Tuesday the construction of 1,100 settlement homes on annexed land in the West Bank, complicating global efforts to renew peace talks and defuse a crisis over a Palestinian statehood bid at the United Nations. Israel's decision was met by a chorus of Western criticism including a call from Britain to "revoke" it, while its close ally, the United States said it was "deeply disappointed" with what it saw as a "counter-productive" step.
