Prophecy Sign: Droughts and famine.
Please pray for the Horn of Africa that rains will come to end the drought, that the civil wars will end, and that the peoples of the region will have an abundance of food. Perhaps these things will not happen until Christ sets up his millennial kingdom, but we should pray for relief to happen now nonetheless.

"Across the country nearly half of the Somali population -- 3.7 million people -- are now in crisis, of whom an estimated 2.8 million people are in the south," the statement read. "Consecutive droughts have affected the country in the last few years, while the ongoing conflict has made it extremely difficult for agencies to operate and access communities in the south of the country," it added.

Tens of thousands of Somalians are dying from malnutrition as the worst drought in 60 years causes massive food shortages and famine in some parts of the country. The United Nations declared a famine in lower Shabelle and southern Bakool, where malnutrition rates are higher than anywhere else in the world. In some areas, more than half the population are malnourished. More than 30 percent of Somalian children are acutely malnourished.
