Prophecy Sign:  An eventual signed peace treaty/covenant which will bring a false peace to the land of Israel for duration of several months

Still much talk about the ongoing Israel/Palestinian peace negotiations which attempts to split Israel further and create yet another Arab Muslim nation called Palestine.  There is a September deadline to make a negotiated settlement happen between the two parties.  Baring any such agreement happening, the Palestinians would then demand a unilateral declaration of a new nation from the United Nations based on the pre-1967 Israel borders.  We have noted before that it is our opinion that peace will not come out of these negotiations or declarations, but will rather result in another middle-east war, (Psalm 83 or Gog/Magog).

However, a new 7 year peace agreement will one day be declared in the region, an agreement which will be brokered by a future world leader which the bible refers to as the Antichrist.  This agreement will be gladly accepted by the world, but will quickly turn to dust as the agreement will be broken by the same person that brokered it in the first place.

The Palestinian Authority will abandon its plan to ask the UN in September to recognize a Palestinian state along pre-1967 lines if Quartet members ­ the US, EU, UN and Russia ­ recognize the two-state principle as the basis for a settlement and call on Israel to withdraw from the territories captured in 1967, including east Jerusalem, an advisor to PA President Mahmoud Abbas said on Monday.  Nimer Hammad, political advisor to Abbas, said that the Quartet should also call for a full cessation of construction in Jewish settlements and set a clear timetable for Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

September looms large in the quest for Mideast peace because Israel and the Palestinians have agreed on President Barack Obama’s target of September 2011 for a peace agreement, a date endorsed by the EU and much of the world.
