Prophecy Sign: A future war in the Middle-East which will see the bordering nations of Israel , seek the destruction of the Jewish State.
From the articles:
A unilateral Palestinian bid for statehood in September could lead to fresh conflict betweenIsrael and the Palestinians and destabilise the whole region, a senior Israeli politician has warned. In an interview with AFP, Shaul Mofaz, who heads the powerful parliamentary Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, said he would urge French leaders not to support the bid during a visit to Paris on Monday. "The possibility of a unilateral declaration, it could bring Palestinians out on to the streets for protests and, God forbid, it could lead to a conflict," said Mofaz, a former defence minister who is an MP for the opposition Kadima party.
Is the ‘Peace Process’ the Road to War?
We have warned before that this unilateral United Nations declaration that the Palestinians are seeking has the high probability of turning into a war, rather than a peaceful settlement. In seeking a U.N. declaration of statehood based on the pre-1967 borders, (which would divide Jerusalem ), the Palestinians are doing an end-around any further peace negotiations with Israel . For their part, Israel would never accept any declaration that means a threat to it's own existence, nor would they negotiate away any part of the City of Jerusalem .
So if the U.N. goes ahead and declares a new Arab state called Palestine , and the Israelis refuse to accept any such unilaterally declared borders, one can see the problems it would cause. It would in fact lead to a war which may become the fulfillment of the prophecy of Psalm 83, (as well as Obadiah and Isaiah 17).
“In that day,” declares the LORD, will I not destroy the wise men of Edom , those of understanding in the mountains of Esau? Your warriors, Teman, will be terrified, and everyone in Esau’s mountains will be cut down in the slaughter. Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever. Obadiah 8-11 NIV
From the articles:
Last week, President Shimon Peres warned that written peace agreement on Jerusalem will cause a “world war.” Now, leading Kadima Knesset Member and former IDF Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz says conflict is the fate of a United Nations declaration recognizing the Palestinian Authority as a country. In a speech at the Bedouin city of Hura in the northern Negev President Peres said that there is a de facto peace in Jerusalem , where “the entire prayers rise up together, and the government doesn’t intervene. People are living and working peacefully… but if they try to put it into writing, a world war will break out.”
