While Jesus didn't specifically mention Volcanoes in his description of end-times events to his disciples, one could surmise that if earthquakes would be occurring all over the world at the end of time, the other seismic event, volcanoes, would be too.

Thousands of passengers have had their flights cancelled because of drifting ash from an Icelandic volcano. About 500 flights were cancelled in Europe on Tuesday, air traffic management body Eurocontrol said. Flights from some airports in Scotland and northern England would be affected until 0100 BST on Wednesday, air traffic services company Nats said. But the transport secretary said there should not be significant disruption for UK airports after Tuesday night.

Britain said flights could be disrupted from parts of the country on Tuesday by an ash cloud billowing from an Icelandic volcano but said it did not expect a repeat of last year's travel chaos. Britain’s Met Office is predicting the plume of ash from the Grimsvotn volcano would cover the Irish Republic, Northern Ireland, Scotland and parts of northern England by 0600 GMT.
