Russia ready to recognize Palestine

Prophecy Sign:  Russia, (the land of Magog), to become a power once again, and involved in end-times wars with Israel.

Russia is fast becoming an influential power in middle-eastern affairs.  After losing much of her power and status after the collapse of Communism, the Russian Bear is back and re-establishing her former alliances in the Middle-East.  Russia has signed economic treaties and has been providing armaments to the likes of Iran, Syria, Turkey and Libya in recent months and years.  So it's not surprising to read that Russia will be one of the first nations to recognize any United Nations unilateral declaration of statehood for the Palestinians.

Bible prophecy tells us that Russia will in the near future become part of an alliance of nations that come against Israel in an end-times battle.

The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him  and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush  and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you. Ezekiel 38:1-6 NIV

From the article:
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has vowed to throw his weight behind recognition of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders. “Every nation needs unity, or the more so the Palestinian people… (who are) striving to create a Palestinian state in accordance with UN resolutions, the Quartet of international mediators (the UN, the EU, Russia, and the U.S.), and the Arab peace initiative,” the Russian foreign minister said. Lavrov voiced his support in a meeting with representatives of Hamas and Fatah in Moscow. The Palestinians and Russians later issued a joint statement.
