'Syria, Hezbollah to compete over firing Scud at Tel Aviv'

Prophecy Sign:  The prophetic destinies of both Syria and Russia

We are told that Syria will become involve in a war against Israel, (what else is new).  The likely war that Syria will be part of is the Psalm 83 battle.  Unfortunately for Syria, it will not go well with them, as we are told by the Prophet Isaiah, (Isaiah 17), that Damascus will be destroyed.

A prophecy against Damascus: “See, Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins. In the evening, sudden terror! Before the morning, they are gone! This is the portion of those who loot us, the lot of those who plunder us. Isaiah 17:1&14 NIV

As for Russia, her allegiance to her long-time and traditional ally, that being Syria, may be one of the proverbial “hooks in the jaw” that the Prophet Ezekiel wrote about in his prophecy of the Gog/Magog war, (Ezekiel 38/39).  We are told by Ezekiel that this alliance of nations, (likely including Russia), which will attempt to invade Israel will be met with destruction by God himself.

On the mountains of Israel you will fall, you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to all kinds of carrion birds and to the wild animals. You will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD.  I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in safety in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the LORD.  Ezekiel 39:4-6 NIV

From the articles:
If war breaks out between Israel, Syria, and Hezbollah, Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime will "play powerful cards" in south Lebanon and will not hesitate to respond, senior security officials in Syria said, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai. According to the officials, in case of war with Israel, Syria and Hezbollah will compete with each other over who will fire the first Scud or Fateh missile at Tel Aviv.

Russia is refusing to cooperate with the West over the unrest in Syria as it does not want to wreck ties with a traditional ally and feels let down by the Western military action in Libya, analysts said. On Wednesday, Moscow clashed with the West at the United Nations over Syria's deadly crackdown on opposition protests, with Russia and China blocking a proposed Security Council statement condemning the Syria violence.
