So just a couple of days ago we presented information on Rick Warren and his Daniel plan, (search our site for that particular blog entry). We provided some pretty informed sources as they disseminated this unbiblical plan of Rick Warrens and questioned why he would leave his church wide open for deception to enter.
Now we have yet another of these deluded Pastors presenting information that will confuse followers and allow, yet again, unbiblical teaching to be presented to their flock. This time it's Rob Bell, Pastor of Mars Hill Church, who in his newest book questions the existence of an actual eternal hell that is the destiny of those that remain outside a right relationship with Jesus Christ. What is it with these so called men of God?? Just what are they teaching in the Seminaries these days?
We have no problem excepting the idea of both an eternal hell and an eternal heaven. The concept of time will be radically different for us when we move out of these mortal bodies and into the immortal, (1 Corinthians 15:52-53). Time will no longer be linear as it is now. There will come a time when a day will be like a thousand years, and a thousands years like a day, (2 Peter 3:8). So the concept of an eternal hell, or eternal heaven, will not have the same meaning as it does to us today. Right now, we can only envision a straight line of time extending forwards and backwards forever. To those like Rob Bell, the idea that someone would be condemned to a place like hell forever by a loving God is simply incomprehensible. But what if time in the immortal would be more like a circle? Then the beginning is the end. One minute in hell, or heaven, would be like a million years, and a million years would be like a minute. Time is of no factor.
Sorry Rob Bell, but we will continue to believe the world of God and Jesus Christ himself, when he describes this awful place called hell. While we are not here to preach some sort of fire and brimstone get saved or else message. The teaching of an actual literal place called hell is biblical and should be something that Christians need to be taught about so they can then warn their unsaved friends and family.
Here are just a few portions of scripture where Jesus spoke and warned of this terrible place:

The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:41-42 NIV
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Matthew 25:41 NIV
And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. Mark 9:46 NIV
But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Luke 12:5 NIV
In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' Luke 16:23-24 NIV
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 NIV (remember this book is the Revelation of Jesus Christ)
From the article:
The book is Love Wins: A Book About Heaven, Hell, and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived. Its author, Rob Bell, has a knack for pushing the envelope and is somewhat of a theological rock star among hip evangelicals. With his rectangle, black-rimmed glasses, his widely popular and artfully-crafted NOOMA videos, and his church-wide art shows, he appeals to a younger audience often searching to challenge the faith of its parents and push Christian societal norms. He’s controversial. Love Wins is no exception.
“With searing insight, Bell puts hell on trial, and his message is decidedly optimistic — eternal life doesn’t start when we die; it starts right now. And ultimately, Love Wins.” It continues: “What if the story of heaven and hell we have been taught is not, in fact, what the Bible teaches? What if what Jesus meant by heaven, hell, and salvation are very different from how we have come to understand them?”
