So have you heard about this so called Planet X theory? Many people are convinced that the Earth is about to be visited by a long lost planet by the name of Nibiru. According to ancient Sumerian legends, Nibiru takes 3,600 years to orbit the Sun, and occasionally makes a close swing past Earth. When it does, it causes catastrophes of epic scales, some would say Armageddon like. This is one of the concerns of those that think the world will end at the end of year 2012.
We have no idea whether any of these theories have any basis in fact or not. Or perhaps it’s all pseudo-science. There is one thing for sure, and that is biblical prophecy and those prophecies in particular contained in the book of Revelation. From gigantic earthquakes that shake the mountains and islands, and what appears to be super-volcanic eruptions, (Revelation -14), to asteroids or meteors crashing to earth, (Revelation 8:8-10), to a shortening of days, (Revelation ). There is a whole lot that will happen to this world during the Tribulation period. In addition the Prophet Isaiah warned that the Earth will reel to and fro like a drunkard in the day of the Lord, (Isaiah 24:20).
God will bring about these judgements on Earth in the way he sees fit. Whether by simply speaking those catastrophes into existence or by sending a wayward planet to cross our path.
