Lavrov says Quartet should determine parameters of final settlement

The Prophet Zechariah was given a vision where he saw four horns, (meaning political powers), that scattered the people of Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.  Most expositors of this particular section of Zechariah attribute the four horns to empires past that scattered the Jewish people throughout the world.

Interesting that once again, a quartet of present day political powers, (America, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations), are attempting to divide the Holy Land, which is a very big no go when it comes to God and his desires for the land he gave as a permanent inheritance to the Jewish people.  America might want to reconsider their participation in this quartet considering what God has warned what he will do to nations that divide his land

Then I looked up, and there before me were four horns. I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these?”  He answered me, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”  Then the LORD showed me four craftsmen. I asked, “What are these coming to do?” He answered, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no one could raise their head, but the craftsmen have come to terrify them and throw down these horns of the nations who lifted up their horns against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”  Zechariah 1:18-21 NIV

There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land. Joel 3:1-2 NIV

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the Quartet meeting in Paris should determine the parameters of the final settlement between Palestine and Israel. After the meeting with EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) Catherine Ashton on Monday, Lavrov said, “We hope that the upcoming Quartet ministerial meeting in Paris in mid-March will be a start line. We consider it absolutely necessary. We’ve reached understanding with the EU to urge the Quartet to state its view on the settlement problem.”  “We also believe that the Quartet should determine the parameters of the final settlement, which will be the key goal of the upcoming talks between Palestine and Israel. These parameters should contain territorial delimitation benchmarks based on the borders of 1969 with possible swaps,” the Russian minister said.
