Famines and food shortages in the end times are both recorded in bible prophecy. The world appears to be heading towards a situation where, as the article points out, one poor harvest in a major breadbasket of the world could throw the entire globe into political chaos and major civil unrest. Just another problem that the world will look to anyone with answers to solve.
